Hello again Durantians! Durant residents who want to be involved in the future planning of Durant are invited to attend a citywide public workshop Thursday April 4th from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. in the Black Box Theater at the DWR Community Center and Library (1515 W Main St, Durant, OK 74701). The workshop will include a short presentation on the current land use plan and an opportunity for residents to weigh in on the future land use plan. The Durant Future Land Use Map is a visual guide to the physical development and future planning of the City. It describes how and where to build, rebuild, and which areas to preserve. The City’s Comprehensive Plan houses the Future Land Use Map and includes a chapter that provides staff, boards, and commissions guidance for land use decisions and direction for investments in community infrastructure. At the workshop, residents will have the opportunity to review the current land use plan and land use patterns in order to develop a land use map according to their ideas and opinions for Durant’s growth and changes in the years to come. This event is for anyone who is interested in planning the future of the city. Spread the word, come with ideas and be ready to participate! Thank you very much and hope to see you there!
