The City of Durant is pleased to announce our Employee Spotlight for August 2023.
Cynthia Price is our City Clerk and Cemetery Administrator. She has worked for the City since 2010, originally holding a position in Economic Development for five years.
“I wanted to utilize more of my legal background,” said Price. “There are many aspects of the city clerk position which require interaction with municipal and district court system as well as working with the city attorney and attorneys assigned to represent the City of Durant.“
Price experiences a broad range of tasks on a daily basis, and says her role is never monotonous or boring.
“Cynthia is my go-to person,” said Interim City Manager Rick Rumsey. “Every time I talk to her, I see and hear her love for Durant and its citizens. She is great to work with and always has the best interest of others at heart.”
As Cemetery Administrator, she shows compassion for families who are in need of her assistance, and can often be seen working at Highland Cemetery.
Her time with the City has given her a special perspective on municipal government. “Our City employees are truly dedicated and strive to do their best,” she said. “We care and take pride in the City of Durant.”
In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, antiquing, reading and watching old movies.
